Dubai is a city and one of the seven emirates of the United Arab Emirates that is popularly known for luxury shopping, sleek and ultramodern skyscrapers, awesome beaches and a lively nightlife scene. Dubai is a key financial and trading hub making it a fast growing city that has power to connect markets all over the globe. Did you know that you can find the tallest building in the world here? Burj Khalifa at 828 m (2,717 ft). It is also in Dubai where you can find the biggest shopping mall with Dubai Mall, exceeding 12 million square feet (equivalent in size to more than 50 soccer fields). And if you’re out for a family vacation, Dubai is where you can find the largest indoor theme park with Warner Bros World Abu Dhabi that spans an area of 1.65 million square feet. Here are some popular things to do in Duba
Burj Khalifa
Most tourists, especially if it’s your first time, a must visit is this awe inspiring building that holds the title of the tallest building in the world. Named in the honor of the ruler of Abu Dhabi and the president of UAE, Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, this has the highest number of stories, and highest outdoor observation deck, and tallest service elevator in the world. It’s also the shoot location for the movie Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol (2011)!
The Dubai mall and Dubai Aquarium and Underwater Zoo
A destination for the whole family to enjoy! A mall like no other, Dubai Mall carries over 1200 retail outlets, and even has two department stores, Galeries Lafayette and Bloomingdale's. When you visit, due to its location, you are already in close proximity to other tourist destination spots like the Burj Park, Burj Khalifa and the Dubai Fountain, making your trip beneficial and strategic. This mall is also home to one of the world's largest suspended aquariums. The 10 million liter tank carries one of the widest marine life, and takes pride to house about 300 sharks and rays. They have shows that allows you to experience interacting with the animals, like an alligator for example. It also offers a ride to the Aquarium Glass Bottom Boat where you see the water surface and observe various creatures swimming underneath.
Dubai Miracle Garden
You have to plan your visit to the Miracle Garden in Dubai because it is closed during the summer given the very strong heat at this time in Dubai. However, if you get the chance to see while you’re here, it will definitely leave a memorable impression on you. This garden was declared as the world's largest vertical garden and here, you will see an Airbus A380 decorated only with the finest flowers making Guinness World Records name it as the biggest flower structure in the world. If explored properly, from all corners, the entire visit will take you 3 to 4 hours of flower treats to the eyes.
There are so much more to do here, like a Dubai Dessert Safari, Legoland, Ferrari World among others. The best time to visit Dubai is during their winter months of November to March, which is not exactly winter weather as we normally think of. A weather with 81°F or 27 degrees Celsius is pleasant and suitable for all kinds of activities.
